David moving on

I often thought that the day David Schwartz, a.k.a. Joel Katz, departs Ripple would mark a turning point for the worse for Ripple.

David is Ripple, as one of the original founders 13 years ago together with Chris, Arthur and Jed.

Yet, David today making the point for why he quits as Ripple CTO by the end of the year, it seems the way things just should be.

Just the other day I was thinking how glad I am that David is no more posting AI imagery and sometimes rather abstract random thoughts, as he did during the darker days of the SEC persecution.

David being silent—and focusing on his work, obviously—seems a good sign.

Now the cat’s out of the bag.

Vividly remember the chance I had to meet you David in Amsterdam some years ago.

Your energy, focus and kindness will always remain an inspiration.

And as you say, you’re not really gone as Ripple’s newest Board of Director member.

All the best to you David and looking forward to who’s carrying your CTO torch!

I remember when Ether was released to the public, XAGATE offered ETH IOUs and David was the first to hold ETH on the RCL from a major Gateway through my issuances, an he paid with a Bitcoin bridge transaction for ~85 ETH with ~0.723 BTC using my new automated deposit system.

Good times David, thanks for this memory, glad to make you a profit upon the ETH run up to near 100$USD a pop!

Go an take good care of yourself, David. That is my best advice.

Remember, I have been around since Ryan Fugger’s Ripplepay in 2008/2009, I discovered Bitcoin first, then XRP and NXT. I settled on the RCL to set up a MSB on due to transaction fees being less than NXT. It took me until July 2014 just lurking before I started to interact with the XRP community.  Now that is what I call lag!

So after all you’ve been around and have seen and worked with, what’s the super app yet to be built?

In fact, the killer app, it was completed just this last month; Resilience!

HOWEVER, Interledger becoming mainstream, and a connector working with Resilience, would be the killer app.  I now find that Interledger is trying to solve real world financial barrier problems. The XRPL has now become a profit driven business instead of trying to create financial inclusivity, imho.

Then again, Resilience is being actively developed still. Johan has added data query costs and is creating a system for exchange rates.
